Assistant General Manager (AGM)

The ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER will be responsible for ensuring that the Totokaelo brand, vision, and values are exemplified in all store operations and client interactions. This position assists in overseeing all aspects of store performance and strategy through sales management, operational efficiencies and personnel functions. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving sales and results through short-term and long-term strategies, processes, and events that create a positive in-store experience for both our store team and our clients. In addition, he/she must have a thorough understanding of our space in the industry as well as a familiarity for relevant brands carried and sold.

  • Manages and measures individual and team progress and results against key targets
  • Embraces and drives Company-driven promotional and marketing campaigns that support the brand
  • Sets a compelling vision and manages successes and failures in a highly collaborative fashion
  • Works closely and effectively with Buyers and Visual Merchandising team
  • Ensures service, merchandising, and operational standards are met through Company-defined practices and processes
  • Stimulates growth in self and others through coaching, training, and development conversations
  • Achieves the sales goals of the store
  • Assists with the day-to-day management of the Stylists’ team
  • Measures sales performance and conversion rates on a daily basis
  • Manages clientele development 
  • Participates in regular store meetings to discuss performance, sales training, product knowledge, merchandising, and to convey other necessary information to GM and stylists
  • Handles responsibilities associated with payroll, scheduling, store opening, reporting, etc.
  • Works closely with GM to evaluate stylists and other department manager’s performance, by providing numbers in Revenue and all KPI's
  • Oversees compliance of stylists with company policies and standards


  • 3+ years of retail experience, preferably with at least 1 year of management, in luxury product setting
  • Sense of initiative and commercial creativity with fashion sensitivity
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills
